Printmaking is a traditional art form, where ink is transferred from a matrix (such as a woodcut block) to paper or another material, often via a mechanical press. Even though several pieces may be produced from the same matrix (creating a numbered edition), each print can be subtly different, and each is considered an original piece of art.
Typically, a piece of art is designed with a particular printmaking method in mind -- such as relief (woodcut, linoleum, letterpress), intaglio, etching, lithography, mono printing, or serigraphy.
I was trained in fine art printmaking at Tulane University in New Orleans. Currently, I operate a hand-crank etching press with a 15x30" bed to complete all my relief printing and letterpress work. Recent prints, as well as older prints, are available for purchase in my Etsy shop.
